AML/FCP + AI Costa del Sol, Spain May 2027 Max 20 participants
What it is

The Nordic AML & Financial Crime Leaders Forum brings together a maximum of 20 AML/FCP leaders from 20 different financial institutions across the Nordics. The value is primarily who is in the room. It is not a conference, a training event or a commercial platform.

The forum is hosted and moderated by Andréas Hobbelin, who sits outside the maximum 20 participant seats.

Forum format

Built around discussion, not presentations

A challenge is framed. Participants describe actual experience. Peer perspectives are put against it. The discussion is debated openly. The learning is collective.

30%

70%
Facilitated peer discussion
  • Participants are expected to contribute actively.
  • No long presentations. No vendor pitching.
  • External specialist input is used sparingly and is not the core of the forum.
Agenda

What the forum discusses

Leadership questions — not product showcases.

AML & Financial Crime

  • What are Nordic institutions seeing that others may be missing?
  • Where are AML resources producing insufficient risk reduction?
  • Which controls and operating models would leaders redesign today?
  • What have institutions implemented that did not work as expected?
  • How are financial-crime risks changing across borders and institution types?

Cross-Sector Intelligence

  • Cross-border payment risk
  • Information gaps between banks, payment institutions and fintechs
  • Emerging typologies
  • Lessons learned across sectors

AML/FCP + AI

AI is a major strategic pillar of the forum — on both sides of the equation. This is not an AI conference.

  • Institutions using AI: transaction monitoring, investigations and alert handling, AI agents and human-in-the-loop, governance and model risk
  • Criminals using AI: deepfakes and synthetic identities, AI-enabled fraud and social engineering, AI-assisted sanctions evasion, autonomous agents
Nordic AML × AI Exchange

20 institutions. 20 perspectives on AML/FCP + AI.

Each participating institution may be invited to briefly share three things, followed by facilitated discussion. This is not 20 corporate presentations.

01

What are we currently doing with AI within AML/FCP?

02

What have we learned — including what has not worked?

03

What are we considering next?

Inaugural edition

Costa del Sol · May 2027

The inaugural Nordic AML & Financial Crime Leaders Forum is being developed for the Costa del Sol in May 2027. Participation is limited to a maximum of 20 Nordic AML/FCP leaders, with one participant per institution. The final date, venue and participation package will be confirmed after founding interest has been validated.

The forum is the product and the participants are the scarce asset. Costa del Sol is the setting chosen to support the format: neutral ground outside participants' home markets, away from headquarters and daily interruptions, with the group remaining together between sessions and over dinner. Two concentrated days create a level of continuity that is difficult to achieve in a standard conference format.

Joining the Founding Interest List expresses interest only. It is not a registration and creates no payment obligation. No payment is collected during the founding interest phase.
